    Description

    This is a appointment document, dated September 19, 1844, for the appointment of James R Chamberlain as a fireman to the Eagle Hose co. in Troy, New York.  Signed by the mayor of Troy, Gordon Corning and a clerk, G Blair (?).  There is a discoloration on the back and some foxing on the right edge. Overall good condition.
