    Description

An interesting partial manuscript document from Bennington, VT, dated June 5, 1824.  It appears to be part of a longer document ordering an individual to pay a debt.  Attached to the bottom of the document is a smaller, partially printed document showing a record of service by Herman Robinson, Deputy Sheriff, "Served the within by taking the body of the defendant and read the same at his hearing."  "Taking the body of the defendant means jailing him until he can pay the debt.  Signed twice on the front by David Robinson, Junior, Justice of the Peace.  Approximately 8" x 6 1/4" in size.
