This is a wonderful plant fossil. It is a fabulous fossil Fern Frond from Knob Noster, Missouri. This fern is preserved in a concretionary matrix, giving it excellent color and detail. The striking chocolate brown coloration is fully natural, and the minute detail is exquisite. The distinct fern is beautifully showcased in the nodule - and both halves of the split pair concretion are present! This is a very striking fossil fern frond from this cool Mazon Creek-like locality.
